Another Good Week

Friday, August 19, 2011 "Another Good Week"

From Bob (dictated to Jenny)

“For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” 2 Corinthians 4:17 (NLT)

It’s been another good week. I haven’t had the need to go to the hospital and I’ve had no obstructions. On Sunday, Patra and I went to my Bible study class at church. That was really a good day. I got to see so many people I haven’t seen in many, many months. People who have been praying for me regularly and it appeared that they were glad to see me too. The teacher did a great job, and I really enjoyed the lesson (which was an introduction to the book of Jonah). I look forward to going back to Bible study class.

On Tuesday, Patra loaded me into the van, and she and I made a trip to Gainesville to visit with Emily’s family. That was another great day. Seeing Emily, Austin, Anderson.

We were glad that James was able to return to work after his emergency surgery last Friday. (After some problems with kidney stones, the doctors had to do emergency surgery last Friday afternoon.)

While at Emily’s, I had a little problem with my blood pressure and passed out, however, Patra and Emily were able to keep me from falling to the ground and hurting myself.

I have intentionally not spent much time trying to imagine what heaven will be like. It seems to me that any human imagination would be inadequate. However I was struck this week by many things that I’m sure about heaven:

In heaven, I will never have a hospitalization, EVER.
In heaven, I will never have any obstructions, EVER.
In heaven, I will never need an NG tube, EVER.
In heaven, I will never experience pain, EVER.
In heaven, I will be in the presence of God, FOREVER.

2 Corinthians 4:17, shown at the top of this post, indicates that the problems we have now are nothing compared to the glory that we will experience in heaven. I have clung to that verse many times and realized that the problems I am having now will soon disappear.

Again, we are so appreciative of all the prayer partners that we have. We continue to pray for so many friends that are experiencing health problems and difficulties.

Dear God, thank you for another really good week. It has been so enjoyable being able to get out and see friends and family and I thank you for that. Please be with our friends that are experiencing difficulties, please comfort them and encourage them and their family members. I pray once again that I will be faithful to the very end. In Jesus name, Amen.

Until next Friday, God willing.
Bob

Good Morning, Bob,
It is wonderful to see you enjoying those precious little girls. They are truly a blessing from our Lord.

We rejoice with you that you had another good week. Yes, heaven holds so many wonderful things, people and experiences for us. It is sometimes difficult to imagine such a place where we will be for eternity, isn't it?

God willing we will see you very SOON. we head to FL in about one week. Pray for our traveling safety please.

We continue to love you, pray for you and praise on your behalf.

Praise the Lord for a good week! The pictures are always precious memories for sure!

Was so sorry we missed you at Sunday school, but probably better since Ted has been sick.

We pray for continued blessings on you and your family and that you can just "wave" at the hospital as you pass it by!

Yes, heaven is going to be the home of all "homes"!

Take care my friends!

Hi Bob,

So glad you had another good week! We're praising God with you. What an encouragement you are to so many. Though we don't always write, please know that we, as I know so many others, keep up with you on this blog to pray for your daily needs. And when we get good reports from you, it makes our hearts rejoice with you. And when you have a bad day, or week, we're before the Lord that much more.

Blessings to you and your family,
Annette and Chuck

Dear Bob and Patra and family,

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John14:27)

The voice of God is better than mine today.

Patra brought many smiles to me, too, this week.

May you continue to be rich with love. God willing, may you enjoy Sunday School in the morning.

Bob and Patra,
Thank you for sharing your heart with us. You have been so faithful to use this difficult experience as an opportunity to cling to the Lord in faith and say, "Yet will I trust Him." No matter what has happened, and obviously no matter what will happen, it is clear that you will trust in Him. You and Patra have touched many lives through this heart-wrenching trial, and that will count for eternity. Thank you for keeping us updated as well. We love you and are praying for you both and your family as well!

Dear Bob and Patra, Emily and Family,

Just wanted to share with you how helpful your "leave your comment" area is to me, and to tell you I did "shine it on", payed it forward, really just did unto others the One Way.

I have been ill in the bed for a year, and could only find one blog I was able to post comments on, besides yours, due to severe neurological problems from Lyme Disease (and that one is now obsolete with today's technology.)

Thank you for thinking of the rest of us, so we can comment without registering or creating another account, etc.

Brilliant Family, always thinking of others.

Love and prayers, Dottie Carson, Ormond Beach,FL
