Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day
June 17, 2011

from Jenny

After a couple of weeks in the hospital, Dad is finally home again! He impressed his doctors during this recent stay by beating pneumonia, a collapsed lung, pericarditis (infection & extra fluid in the sac around his heart), surgery to insert two drainage tubes in his chest, an electric shock procedure to get his heart back into a normal rhythm, AND painful shingles.

Thank you for your fervent prayers - we know God heard and answered all our prayers, and we're once again so grateful for your continued encouragement and support!

Since he's been home from the hospital, my dad has been enjoying some time with the family. And our big news is that Baby Anderson finally got to meet his Grandpa!! This week was also the first time Grandma and Grandpa got to spend time with all six of their grandchildren together.

As you can imagine, there is no better medicine than arms filled with grandchildren!

It is a Father's Day week our family will always remember. We feel very blessed.

P.S. We also wanted to share some pictures of Dad from when we (Jenny, Emily, & Adam) were growing up.

Again, we are touched and blessed so much by your family. Family is what it is all about and I know the joy in the hearts of Bob & Patra as they got to spend time with all six of the grandchildren and children. What a blessing!

Bob has set the example; his life has touched so many people and the testimony of his faith continues to shine the light of Jesus - this little light of mine - He is going to let it shine!

May you have the most blessed Father's Day ever!

Dear Bob -

Let me first start by saying I'm not nearly as articulate as you, so I will keep this short and sweet. I've been reading your blog on a weekly basis since learning of it from a friend last November, and I'm constantly blessed by your testimony - and that of your children. You have an adoring wife and beautiful family, and I wish you ALL a very happy Father's Day week!

God bless you!

Sincerely,
Zonya Hall

Dear Bob and Patra,

Praise the Lord that you are back home again and have been able to spend time with the whole family! The picture of you two with all six grandchildren is precious!

As you fight the good fight of faith we pray that the Lord will give you much new strength. You have come through quite a mine field.

Hope Father's Day is a special and blessed celebration for you!

Love,
Tom and Margie

P.S. Love the family photos!

Thank you for sharing the family photos; both new and older ones; they are priceless! I love family photos and did a power-point presentation for my Dad last year for his birthday.

I recorded the song "My Dad" - some may remember it from the Donna Reed show - Paul Peterson sang it and I bought it a couple of years ago; what a priceless song.

Love the pics! How precious. I would love to see a few more! What an amazing testimony this blog will be for those sweet grandbabies one day. So glad that you are home and got to see all the kids. Looking at the pic i realized how neat it is that each child has a same sex, same age cousin! What fun that will be for them!
Stay out of the hospital and have a wonderful Fathers Day!

What a beautiful sight to see all your smiling faces together. Sounds like the last few weeks have been long and hard through some extra tall weeds, so this special Fathers Day and your the time you get to spend together is such a blessing for all of you and for us to hear about. So happy to finally see little Anderson in your arms. Please remember that our thoughts, love and prayers are always with you even thought our comments aren't. Love all the oldie-goldie pictures.Brings back memories for me. Happy Fathers Day to those two "new" Poppas too. We love you all ----- and keep on pushing those weeds away.

I am catching up and I thoroughly enjoyed all these old photos! And how about how Jenny likes like Andrew in a dress? How can that be? He looks just like his dad! AMAZING! What a heritage...your family inspires so many of us. I think I say the same thing over and over but I am still incredibly in awe of the way God allows His testimony to go before you. God is using this blog alone to CHANGE LIVES!

Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us!

Love,
Jessica

Your family just continues to bless all those who read your blog. We so admire you, Bob and Patra and all the rest, for your incredible testimony through all you've been through. We love the pictures with the grandchildren. Our second one just arrived last week. Kevin and Ruth have two beautiful girls now, Anna (3 yrs.) and newborn Elyse. We can certainly relate to all the joy your 6 have brought and are bringing to you. May you continue to feel Jesus close to you.
