A Little Setback

(Jenny posting for my Dad)

Well, last night and this morning will have to fall under the "minor setback" category (although my dad may disagree with how he felt being categorized as "minor").

After an all-night battle with a GERD attack (esophageal spasms that mimic the pain & severe discomfort of a heart attack), my mom called Moffitt around midnight last night to discuss his condition.

Because Moffitt doesn't have an emergency room (and my Dad can't be exposed to the germs in another hospital's ER), they instructed my mom to administer pain meds through the night.

In addition to the GERD attack, he also battled an extreme case of nausea well into this morning.

They went back to Moffitt today for lots of fluids. Although they thought he might also need blood products, the good news is that his blood levels are VERY good today!

We still don't know whether they'll keep him over there for the night... but we're all grateful that he's being monitored and improving so well throughout today.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and thoughts.

Thanks, Jenny, for your timely update. I know this is a hard time for Bob, but we are glad that he is bouncing back without having to have more blood products at this time.
We will keep praying and praising.

Bless his heart! I know those are hard things to handle. But the Lord has His hand in all things; just glad your Mom was there to help him thru the night. Wish we had a little "hovermobile" to get him to Moffit quickly. I am glad about the bloodwork. I know after one of my chemo infusions, I had a lot of reflux; I had never had it before so I wasn't sure what was happening. I was told to keep the head of my bed elevated and I took Pepcid which helped and don't drink carbonated drinks. I don't know if it would help, but wouldn't hurt either. Our hearts & prayers are with your WHOLE family and know we are thinking about you constantly.
Take care all!

We keep on praying -- we are thankful for the ones who can help him feel more comfortable.
By the way, I happened to click again onto the comments from Bob's blog, "I Got My Kiss" .... I hadn't seen it until today (4/7/10) -- almost missed it from the REAL 'FLO'--what I wonderful addition to Bob's blog!!
Take care--and continue trusting that God is working out His promises. Romans 8:28

I just learned of the blog and want to add my encouragement. Bob, you are filled with so much goodness that I know you have huge reservoirs of strength. As always, you continue to be the inspiration for those of us in your Stetson family and in the Tampa Bay area legal comunity.

Love and strength to you,

Bill Weller
