Brief Update

(Thursday, March 4, 2010)

Update from Emily:

Dad's doctors say that he is doing "great" or perhaps it would be best to say "doing well under the circumstances and side effects of chemo!" Food is no longer of any interest to Dad and he spends most of the day feeling sick to his stomach. The nursing staff is trying to find the best balance of drugs for Dad - something that eases the upset stomach but doesn't make him sleep all day. He is able to drink protein shakes and had enough strength this afternoon to take a short walk down the hallway. Mom also reports that he hasn't lost any of his hair. We are hoping and praying that tomorrow will be a turn around day - that Dad will now start feeling better each and every day.

Jenny and I have both stayed away from the hospital due to illness at home with our own children. I apologize for the brief post with facts alone, but this mommy needs some sleep!!!

Continuing to ask others to pray for your Dad and for your entire family. I know these are exhaustig times and know you ALL are in our thoughts and continued prayer. I pray that the nausea will go away and that your Dad can eat anything he wants!! Sometimes it is better to eat a little at a time, more frequently.
Hope you all get a good night's sleep.
Hugs to all!

Emily & family- Yes, we will pray specifically for easing Bob's upset stomach - that the doctors will know the best way to help his recovery. "God is able..."
I certainly do know how "mommy needs some sleep". I have appreciated the updates - unless there is a specific prayer need, it would be fine with me if you all "take a rest from blogging" -
We will pray for the illness at your home, too - and continued strength & patience 'through it all'. I Peter 5:7
In Christ's love,
Ruthie and Dave Q.

Family,
We continue to pray for all of you. We are on the road, but grab the computer when possible.
May God give Bob recovery from the nausea and complete healing in time. We pray for him each step of the way.
We pray that today will be an upward day for him.
We love you.

Emily, Don't apologize for just the facts...we appreciate hearing the progress report. We'll take "just the facts, ma'am," any day.
