Back to 3W of Hospital

(March 17, 2010)

Quick Update from Emily:

Today as Mom and Dad went back to the hospital for routine follow-up/ out-patient procedures, Dad passed out. The doctors have readmitted Dad to the Bone Marrow wing of the hospital. He is having a series of tests run to determine the exact cause of his fainting spells. (My non-medical self wants to suggest that perhaps it could be related to the extreme chemo, the bone marrow transplant, or his lack of appetite... but the doctors are trained and very good at their jobs, so I will let them diagnose).

Dad will remain in the hospital for now, and we will start the process of moving things back from the apartment for the time being. Whew. We are all pretty exhausted - mostly from the sheer emotion of it all.

Please continue to pray for our family - particularly Mom and Dad.

Emily,
How about the fluid retention, has it eased? Just lack of eating would, I think, cause a person to be faint. You are correct; the doctors should know if they need to check more just to be on the cautious side of it all.
We continue to pray. Try not to be weary in well doing. This too shall pass.
Good results will be worth it all.
Love you all,
Lex and Linda

Bob, Patra, Emily and family: I know your hearts are aching at this time; the excitement of getting to move to the transitional apt and then back admitted. Hopefully it is something simple and he will soon be on the road to recovery. Unfortunately with as much as went on, it will take some time to recoup for sure. He really needs to take things slow & easy. When getting up from a lying position, come up slowly, sit for a spell before trying to stand, etc. I know it is hard; but I went thru a lot of that as well; trying to move too fast. Prayers are there for all of you. Take good care and hope you all get a good night's sleep.

So sorry to hear about this setback. Hopefully it will be shortlived and you can make the move again. I'm sure this must be exhausting, mentally as well as physically. Patra, be strong and take care of yourself these days. Sending love, prayer, and well wishes to both of you. ~~ Mary Lib
